Life's Transition State

You know when you go into a job interview and they ask you the dreaded question. “Tell me about yourself”. You immediately go uhhhhh because even though you are you everyday you don’t know how to describe yourself. That’s how I feel way too much of the time. I don’t know who I am. I have all these identities but I don’t know how important they are to me and how much they define my personality. sometimes I even doubt if I want to keep identifying as some of the things I do.

For example, I always say I am hispanic on surveys but if you were to see me, you wouldn’t even guess. I have to prove to people I have that heritage by telling them my mom’s maiden name was Delgado. I also don’t share all the struggles that are stereotypically found in someone of hispanic heritage. My…
